Chhape Ram -Open Lotus–
I grew up right here in the village of Vashisht, nestled at 2000 meters in the Himalaya Mountains in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. I am a simple honest man who loves to meet people and to help give visitors to my country the best experience possible.
I started working as a guide for travellers about 18 years ago. Working as a guide was a great opportunity for me to share the beauty of this land with others and to gain knowledge of this vast country I grew up in. After many years of travelling and trekking with clients I stepped into a more managerial role and for 12 years I ran a travel company. Through this job I gained much experience in the travel business helping clients with everything from planning their trip itineraries, arranging all kinds of transport, booking hotels and guest houses, guides and porters and much more!
I am excited to start my own company and I believe with the combined skills that Simone
and I have we can offer our clients high quality customised service at competitive rates.
On 2016, Chhape decided to launch his new company “Open Lotus”, hotel and new vision to the world and all adventurous out there. He recently open the doors of his Shala (Yoga Room) in his hotel. He practice Yoga daily and he has a strong pranayama practice that changed his life forever.
Born in Antofagasta, Chile. At the age of 18 Juan Gabriel moved to Belgium to study french. Once he was capable of expressing himself in another language, Juan Gabriel went on to college where he studied Communications.
Yoga came to Juan Gabriel at an important crossroad in his life and changed the original path he had in mind.
Juan Gabriel let Yoga enter his life and that was the beginning of a wonderful journey. He enrolled for a retreat/training lead by his first teacher Elsie Matthijssens
in North India. It was there that he developed a profound passion for Yoga and Philosophy.
Back in Belgium he engaged deeply in to his daily practice and soon after, he started his first teacher training with Gösta and Patrick from Svaha Yoga.
After a full year of discovering the path he started the adventure of building his own practice in Leuven – Puro Yoga.
Juan Gabriel teaches daily Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga, Prana Vinyasa Flow® Meditation and Pranayama to a slowly growing yet enthusiastic community.
After attending Shiva Rea’s retreat in France where he was introduce to Prana Vinyasa Flow®, he was moved and inspired by this amazing teacher – He found his method – Currently assisting his mentor Shiva, all around the world in Retreats and teacher trainings. Considering himself as a student for life, fire keeper and a mover.
He leaded his first retreat at the age of 28 in Himalayas India, with help of Chhape, they offered a transformational holiday experience.
His teacher’s intention was for him to hold the space at Rythmia and represent her and the Prana Vinyasa Method. After realising and sharing the same vision than Gerald Powell, He decided to answered that vision and flow with faith. He now lives in Costa Rica half of the year and the other half you can find him in Leuven – Belgium or the world.
Juan Gabriel is a global citizen, actively engaged in playing his part for a better planet.
